There are various easy ways to flatten a diamond painting canvas using household items. For these methods to work successfully, you’ll need to flatten your diamond painting canvas on a flat surface. 

Flattening a Diamond Painting Canvas with an Iron

To flatten a diamond painting canvas with an iron, you’ll need: 

• A thin towel
• An iron
• A flat, heat-resistant surface
• The diamond painting canvas

Here’s how to flatten a diamond painting canvas using an iron:

1. Lay the diamond painting canvas on a flat, heat-resistant surface 
2. Place a towel on top of the diamond painting canvas
3. Switch on the iron and turn it to a low heat
4. Carefully iron the towel with the diamond painting canvas underneath 

Don’t use the iron on high heat because doing so would damage the diamond painting canvas. To help hold the canvas down under the tea towel, use heavy objects to weigh down either side of the towel.

To flatten a diamond painting canvas with heavy objects, you’ll need:

• Your diamond painting
• Heavy objects such as hardback books 
• A flat surface

Here’s how to flatten a diamond painting canvas using heavy objects:

1. Unfurl the diamond art canvas and place it on a flat surface
2. Place the heavy object(s) on top of the diamond painting canvas
3. Leave the objects on the canvas overnight

Although this method requires fewer items, it takes longer than the other two methods and may be less effective. Using heavy objects works best on diamond paintings with curled corners rather than wrinkles all over the canvas.
